Nooklings Store Upgrade Guide

I've added a new background to both animal_xing_3ds and acnl_open_gates :3 If you'd like to make a custom CSS design for one or both of our Animal Crossing: New Leaf communities, please contact a mod and thanks in advance!

Wait a sec, what's "Nooklings?" Well, Tom Nook no longer runs the general goods stores in ACNL. Instead, his "Nooklings," Timmy Nook and Tommy Nook, do. So "Nooklings" is an affectionate term for the new generation of Animal Crossing general goods stores.

Bear in mind that only Nookling Junction and T&T Emporium are confirmed as English localized names so far; the names of the other upgraded stores may be different.

Here are detailed explanations about the different Nooklings stores ~

Nookling Junction
Default Hours: 8am - 10pm
Early Bird: 6am
Night Owl: 12am

This is the starting store, as the resemblance to Nook's Cranny in the previous AC games would suggest. Offers average hours of operation and basic stock that changes every day: two tools, two furniture pieces, one wallpaper, one carpet, one stationery, one wrapping paper, and one fortune cookie.

Convenience Store
Default Hours: 7am - 12am
Early Bird: 6am
Night Owl: 5am

Requirements: 10,000 Bell house payment, 12,000 Bells spent at Nookling Junction, 7 days since community project completion

This is the first upgrade you can get with improved hours and selection: three tools, three furniture pieces, two wallpapers, two carpets, one stationery, one wrapping paper, two fortune cookies, and one medicine.

The catalog machine also becomes available so you can order goods you've already obtained.

Supermarket
Default Hours: 9am - 8pm
Early Bird: 6am
Night Owl: 12am

Requirements: 25,000 Bells spent at the Convenience Store, 10 days since Convenience Store opening, 10 days since Garden Center opening

The second upgrade has limited hours of operation but offers more goods: three tools, four furniture pieces, two wallpapers, two carpets, two stationery, one wrapping paper, two fortune cookies, one medicine, and one melody Card

Wall decorations, brand new to the AC series, will also appear; these furniture pieces go up on your wall like a poster.

Home Center
Default Hours: 10am - 11pm
Early Bird: 6am
Night Owl: 3am

Requirements: 50,000 Bells spent at the Supermarket, 21 days since Supermarket opening

The third upgrade offers three tools, five furniture pieces, two wallpapers, two carpets, two stationery, one wrapping paper, two fortune cookies, one medicine, one melody card, and one music record.

The Garden Center will also move into this building.

T&T Emporium
Default Hours: 9am - 9pm
Early Bird: 6am
Night Owl: 12am

Requirements: 100,000 Bells spent at the Home Center, 30 days since Home Center opening, four satisfactory Gracie fashion checks

The fourth and final upgrade is called T&T Emporium, or Timmy & Tommy Emporium. This is the first time in AC history that the goods store can have four upgrades! The hours are once again shortened but it offers the most items with three shopping floors: general goods on the first floor, furniture on the second floor, and Gracie's designer products on the third floor!

What do you think about all the upgrades? What kind of hours would you like to have?

I like the new background! It's nice and clean.

With the different trading hours, does this mean that the store opens earlier and closes at the regular time for Early Bird towns, and for Night Owl towns it opens at the regular time and closes later?

Thanks, glad you like it!

I'm not 100% sure but I think you've got it right. So if regular store hours are 8am to 10pm for Nookling Junction, for example, then a early bird hours would be 6am to 10pm, and night owl hours would be 8am to 12am.

I'm a night owl so having the later hours sounds great to me :D

(P.S. ~ Sorry for the typos, I wrote this right after an eye exam and my eyes were all crazy.)
